Procrastinating with Poetry

Dabbling a bit with poetry today as the ADD is in full force. 🙂 I’m supposed to be writing an article right now. The subject is heavy though, so this… is what transpired.

Chew it up, spit it out… another one you’ve knocked down… I don’t believe in your stupid games… as if calling me out were your primary aim… I can’t breathe, I can’t sleep, I know the secrets you try to keep… yet I keep quiet and stay calm, stay still… the moment is coming to go in for the kill…

Bide. My. Time. Get in your head… still your heartbeat… until the roads run red…

I. Can’t. Sleep. Rest is calling soon… business left unfinished… karma beckons you…

Feeding, receiving lies… another strange comfort in disguise… Aren’t you tired of always fighting… as if you’re a fuse afraid of igniting… you can’t breathe, you can’t sleep, because of the secrets you try to keep… yet I keep quiet and stay calm, stay still… my moment is coming to go in for the kill…

Bide. My. time. Get in your head… still your heartbeat… until the roads run red…

You. Can’t. Sleep. Rest won’t find you… business left unfinished… karma claims it’s truth…

Coupons. Ashtray. Fork. Sailboat.

Winding and finding a mystery transpiring and desiring a tiring reprieve.

Whirling and twirling a happiness unfurling and curling my heart around my sleeve.

Just because it doesn’t make a lick of sense to you, doesn’t mean it can’t make sense to me.

That’s all I’ve got. Oh… and in a necessary moment of Zen… here’s the photo of the day. 🙂

Nostalgia...

Nostalgia…

I remember gazing at this lighthouse, a younger, more naive version of myself, and wondering what it would be like to live in one of many rooms it seemed to have. I then became slightly obsessed with reading books on the topic. Around the age of 15, I discovered Virginia Woolf’s “To the Lighthouse”, which is still one of my favorites of all time. I adore lighthouses. 🙂
